Every year in Canada, close to 1000 workers are killed on the job, or die as a result of a work-related injury or illness. Every one of those families has a story about their loved one. Add to that the thousands who are injured on the job each year, whose stories have just taken a sudden plot twist.
Families, friends, co-workers, employers, health and safety professionals, and others come together for an annual memorial walk for awareness and fundraising. At Steps for Life, one can make a difference for families affected by a workplace tragedy! At the 2022 event, our President, Lisa Beech-Hawley (Ontario Power Generation) provided engaging remarks at the official opening for the day.
